Back in the saddle! - December 4, 2009

Hello friends,

I hope your day is going well. Thanks for stopping by my website.

I have some exciting news...at least exciting for me! I've been on hiatus from the band thing for some time for a variety of reasons that if I went into it all, it just wouldn't make good web copy. Anyway, I recently responded to a Craig's List ad (always a risky proposition) posted by a guitarist named Harold Wright. He was looking for band mates to play old school punk and new wave. (Plus he mentioned he was in his forties and married with children...PERFECT!) So I responded and we've been blasting out the tunes for a couple of months now.

We recently added drummer Tony Songer and singer, guitarist, keyboardist Matthew Thayer to the lineup, as well. It's a great combination. We're learning an eclectic mix of covers and beginning to work on originals, which includes new originals of mine! (And if you know me, that means we're also chatting about recording our originals.)

I'll keep you posted, and keep this fledgling group in your thoughts and prayers. Bands are such delicate creatures; they need our care and support.

Peace,

Dennis

Target Neutral - December 4, 2009

Happy Holidays!

I just added a link to a great idea: BP's Target Neutral. Is it cold enough outside for you? If not, think about sequestering some of that CO2 coming out of your tailpipe. Learn how at:

Love Is In Season! - July 11, 2009

Hello,

I just posted a track from The Slow Burn's album, "Let's Do It!", recorded at Bias Recording Studios in Virginia. The song is "Love Is In Season" written by singer and guitarist Ted Donat and his buddy David Sasscer. The song has a great groove and fine lyrics.

That's me on bass, Dale Juarbe on drums, Paul D'Andrea on lead guitar and Ted on rhythm guitar and vocals.

It was a blast playing with The Slow Burn. I miss those guys and encourage you to check out their show if you're around Washington, DC! Or visit them virtually at

Retrospective - October 13, 2008

I just added an MP3 from the early days.

In the '80s, I played in a band with my brother, Bill Feeney, who is now an artist and woodworker in New York City, and Chris Dennison, who takes wolves for walks in the mountains outside Denver every weekend. We played hard rock all over Wyoming and from what we can remember of it, had the time of our lives. At the time, we were playing with singer and sax player Steve Lebruska, and drummer Todd While of Laramie's own Bas-Mati! It was a blast.

The MP3 is a song called "Hideaway Ladies". Bill, Chris, Todd and I recorded it at a small recording studio in Cheyenne, Wyoming around 1982.

New home on the range - July 25, 2008

We're watching the dust settle after our move to Boise, Idaho. It's a long drive from Washington, DC. We're glad to be back out west.

Important stuff - July 4, 2008

I've added a bunch of links to organizations that make a difference, like Raven Drum, ONE, Project Aware and Fair Indigo.

Take a look on the "Links" page.

Peace,
Dennis

Rare track - August 31, 2007

I just added a song to the "Music" page that was recorded during the Den Dogs' sessions at Colorado Sound. "It's Cool To Rock" was written by Eric "Roscoe" Ambel when he was in the Accelerators, and released on the Accelerators EP, "It's Cool To Rock". My friends and I were probably the biggest fans of the Accelerators (that's the Dirty Dogs if you're from Laramie). Roscoe plays acoustic guitar with the Den Dogs (David Eisenhauer, Aric Hageman and me) on this version. It was a blast and an honor to record this tune with him.
